Welsh Open

Ronnie O`Sullivan beats Mitchell Travis
4-1 in an easy match

World Snooker Champion, Ronnie O`Sullivan started his run in the Welsh Open with a victory over amateur Mitchell Travis.
Ronnie wasn't playing his best, but stiil showing a form to fight for the title, breaks of 53, 48 and 81 in the first visit give him the first 3 frames, putting himself one frame away for the victory.
Travis was looking confident, but he miss a lot of his aggressive long shots, and Ronnie didn't put himself in risk.
In the 4° frame, Travis started to pot few balls, and made a 40 break, but a immediately reply from Ronnie, with a 43 break, put him into the frame, before Travis punish his mistakes for the first time in the match, to reduces the difference to 3 frames to 1.
But Ronnie O`Sullivan played a response safety game in all match, and it wasn't different in the 5° and last frame, which Ronnie take with a 46 clearance.

After the match, Ronnie said:
"Mitchell beat Marco Fu at the UK Championship so I'm just pleased to get through.
I like to win every tournament that I play in so will be trying my hardest. I was a bit rusty there, although I played ok, I wasn't sharp because I haven't really picked my cue up since the Masters. I have only really played about 3 or 4 hours in a month.
Now I have a few days to get some practice to sharpen my game up. I need to have a good run in this because I have not entered the China Open or the Haikou World Open and I wasn't in the German Masters, although I am going to play in the Players Championship."

One of my favorites to take the trophy, the Defending Champion Stephen Maguire, started his run with a nicely victory of 4-1 over Elliot Slessor with breaks of 79 and 98.
4-times Ranking Event winner in the season, Ding Junhui made an impressive 4-2 victory over the great Gary Wilson, with runs of 121, 82, 77 and 57.
Scott Donaldson, a young talent from Scotland, also did a good 4-2 win over Robert Milkins.
Andrew Higginson and Matthew Stevens was the first two welsh players to play the tournament, and both of them win their matches against Martin O`Donnell and Adam Wicheard respectively.
