Welsh Open runs to Semi-Finals

Ronnie reach to the semi-final conceding just 5 frames in 5 matches

Semi Finals:

Ding Junhui (11) Joe Perry
(13:00 - Saturday)
Ding is playing well this week, and almost lost to Joel Walker in his previous match, but he needed to recover and make back-to-back centuries in the last 2 frames to win 5-4. But Joe Perry is great too, and beats Mark Selby 5-1 in the quarter-finals, but I still can't see he in the final.

Ronnie O`Sullivan (11) Barry Hawkins
(19:00 - Saturday)
Barry is having a marvelous event so far, and made an impressive 5-0 with two centuries in his quarter against Marco Fu, but he will face Ronnie O`Sullivan, who conceded just 5 frames in his previous 5 matches so far.
He also will have a strong confidence in this semi-final because he beats his rival John Higgins - for the first time in a ranking event since 2009 Shanghai Masters - by the unbelievable scoreboard of 5-1.

This tournament can have a great Sunday's final, with Ronnie O`Sullivan and Ding Junhui.
They are strong favorites in their semi-finals match, and we know that Ding ever wants to show something special against Ronnie, but he usually can't held the pressure.

Welsh Open Trophy

Here is some matches in this tournament so far that I have something to talk about:

Last 32:
Mark Williams 4(7)3 Neil Robertson

After win his first round match, Neil said something like "I feel sick because I didn't make a century", and looked so confident before lost to Mark Williams and don't run to the last 16.

Last 16:
Judd Trump 3(7)4 John Higgins

Trump said before lost: "I am playing near to my best and I will probably play the final, but Ronnie is in my quarter draw and this can be a tough match"
The problem was that Ronnie runs to the quarter, but Judd wasn't there, he lost before it to John Higgins, a player who need respect.

Quarter Finals:
Joe Perry 5(9)1 Mark Selby
Mark just need to prepare himself for every match, but he just care about matches against the bests in the world, this is because he play bad over all the year and do well at The Masters, in The Masters he play against Top Players only.

What I have to say about this matches is that you need to care who you will face in your next match, and not in the final stages of the event.
The players goes for matches thinking about his probably next opponent, and all players deserve respect, and a top player is the one who needs to know it.

Quarter Finals:
Ronnie O`Sullivan 5(9)1 John Higgins
Ronnie beats Higgins

Ronnie beats Higgins for the first time in a ranking event since 2009 Shanghai Masters!
Higgins is ever the bad dream of Ronnie, but this time, Ronnie was just best than him, and he had nothing to do.
He tried to play aggressive safety shots but Ronnie was better in the safety game too and just take his chances with top runs of 115 and 65.

There was also some shocked results like:
Last 32 Murphy 3-4 Wenbo
Last 32: Carter 4-2 Allen
Last 16: Walker 4-3 Maguire

Walker, 19

Joel Walker -who worked with Ronnie years ago- made an impressive run this week, he beats the current Champion Stephen Maguire in the last 16 winning the decider frame and was 4(9)2 up against Ding Junhui in the quarter-final, but the Chinese made back-to-back centuries in the last two frames to take it 5(9)4.
It's a massive result for him, because this tournament has been a success, because:
All the top players into it, and it is very good for the atmosphere, because they are playing their best here; And the tournament is having a good TV Coverage, making the fans watch and enjoy it.
