Ronnie O`Sullivan: Late Start?

Five-Times World Champion Ronnie O`Sullivan
told to Inside Snooker that he's planning to start 2014/15 Season
just in November

Ronnie is looking to make another sabbatical time, just 6 months now.
The Rocket limited a lot his appearances last season, but could even win 4 events, reach to another 2 finals and 1 Semi-Final. But now, Ronnie O`Sullivan wants to play only when the Snooker schedule is full of Big Events, playing the Champion of Champions in early November, UK Championship in late November and then The Masters in January.

“I think the Champion of Champions will be my first proper tournament of the season, and obviously that is at the beginning of November.
It was a good event in it's first year with all the winners of the titles, and even though Ding Junhui won a few this time round it will be a decent line-up again.
I did play a few of the European Tour events last season, stepping it up a bit on the one before when I got away with it a bit at the Crucible.
But I’m not sure I’m going to be doing as many of those again and also I am unlikely to be doing too much of the main tournaments requiring a lot of long-haul travel.
There are three big events from November to January, and I certainly plan to play in those.” available on Inside Snooker

There's a chance to defend his Paul Hunter Classic Crown in August, and so make an earlier start with a short trip to Germany, but with all European Tours on Europe now, and with his disinterest in going to China, it looks that we will see Ronnie playing in exhibitions only until November.

Good or Bad for O`Sullivan?

Well, what could we say about this decision? As a fan, I will miss Ronnie a lot, but we need to agree that O`Sullivan isn't happy when he plays much Snooker. He almost missed last Masters because he was bored from Snooker, had been playing a lot of tournaments in August, September, October, November and December.
If he thinks it's good for him, it really is. It's is a nice idea too because he will be fresh when he returns (and this time he wants to return) and he will have a rest from the buzz of the World Championship Final lost.
I remember once when O`Sullivan said that if he is a time away from snooker, he loves the return, it makes him more hungry and he feels the pressure, as if you don't feel it you need to stop playing snooker.
Well, I hope it works this time again.

The Buzz

At the same time I will miss Ronnie O`Sullivan, I will feel again one of the best feelings if you are a fan of Ronnie, I mean:
  1. When the commentators say: "He is playing well, but could he beat Ronnie?";
  2. When managers say: "We could like to have Ronnie O`Sullivan, atmosphere is great with him";
  3. When commentators say: "What could happen if Ronnie had been playing here this week?";
  4. When everyone say:  "When he will be back? Will we see Ronnie again?";
  5. And when I watch all that BBC Segments telling who's Ronnie and asking in the end "Will O`Sullivan be back?".
And why do I love it? Because he always comes back.
