The Crucible Quiz: Favourite Player
2nd Place: Neil Robertson
Well, just want to congratulate all the players who got into the top 3, as the number of votes were exactly the same! Yeah, the percentage was absolutely the same, so all the 3 players are champions, and the Snooker fans are very divided.
As a criteria to decide who's third, second and first, I decided to put in front the player with most titles at the Crucible (or matches if there's 2 who won the same number of title, or didn't even win), so again, congratulations to all the 3 who'll be commented about here, truly people's champion (haha:).

His season so far
In 2013/14 season, Neil Robertson became the eighth player ever to complete a Triple Crown, winning the 2013 UK Championship. Then at the Crucible, despite losing in the Semi-Final to eventual Champion Mark Selby, he did history becoming the first player ever to complete 100 Century breaks in the same season, what's a big number as a player who's done more than 100 over all his career, can already be considered as a great Break-Builder.
Based on it, I expected Neil Robertson to do an amazing season, and he really started well, didn't show signs of poor form, as he went on to defend his title at the Wuxi Classic 2014, the first Ranking Event of the season. Then he reached to the Final of the Australian Open, beaten by - 3rd Place in The Crucible Quiz - Judd Trump.
But then Neil Robertson started kind of disappoint me, as his form disappeared and the player who I thought was going to be the tougher draw in every event this season - as he had become a myth in the season before, and he knows it -, started to lose against a lot of low ranked players.
He lost to Jak Jones and Dechawat Poomjaeng in the European Tour's 1 and 2 respectively, then dropped in the hands of Michael White in the first Round of the Shanghai Masters.
He had loses against Gerard Greene and Joe Swail as his poor form continued until the Champion of Champions, when he did a nice run to the Semi-Finals, just not capable of beat an in-form Judd Trump.
Neil was beaten by Graeme Dott in the last 16 of the UK Championship, failing to defend his title and closing 2014 not as good as he could imagine when it started off.
He started 2015 playing in the Championship League, but he gave up even having a place in Group 2, maybe to give himself a rest for the Masters.
In the Masters then, he felt in touch with his form, as he beat Ronnie O`Sullivan in the Semi-Final, with an impressive 6-1 scoreline, when Ronnie was outplayed, a rare thing to happen but a result of the best performance by Neil in the season so far.
But it didn't take so long as he played poorly against a demolishing Shaun Murphy in the Final, losing it 2-10.
He did a few poor tournaments again, just to recover his boost winning the Poland European Tour 6, beating Williams 4-0 in the final, after beat Judd Trump in the Quarters and Shaun Murphy in the Semis.
He haven't yet played any tournament after this, despite a Qualifier for the China Open where he easily made it to the main venue beating Lu Haotian 5-3.
His chances at the Crucible
It's true Neil didn't perform what we know he's capable of this season, but just yet as he recently won the Poland Open and will be very confident as he finally beat Judd Trump and Shaun Murphy, of course feeling that he can do it now.
But it's still a long way to go considering the form of players like Judd Trump, Ronnie O`Sullivan and Shaun Murphy, even them all have lost to Neil this season.
The Grand Prix will happen this week and this is of course a very important tournament, as it counts with the Top 32 in a 1 Year based Ranking list, so everyone at the Tournament is in pure form and it won't be such a different square at the World Championship, so it's gonna be a great test for him and of course if he's not up for it, it must be a warm for him to prepare himself better for the World Championship.
The "longer matches factor" at the Crucible isn't something that will help Neil against players like Selby and O`Sullivan, but he's won once there and of course holds good memories from it, so I think he can be very intimidating and can really go far at this tournament.
Anyway I wouldn't really be surprised of watching Neil drop in the Quarter Finals or even before, as a lot of players ranked behind him are playing great Snooker, maybe it should be a nice deal to get in the Top of the Ranking before the Crucible and avoid names like O`Sullivan and Selby before the Final.
Next month marks the Start of the World Championship, and the winners of "The Crucible Quiz" will be announced here.
Selby? O`Sullivan? Murphy? Junhui? Who's gonna be the Champion of "Favourite Players"? And can any match beat the "18.5 Million audience" 1985 Final in the "Greatest Matches"?
Keep an eye on Ronnie O`Sullivan Brasil on Facebook and the other eye in my Twitter to see more exclusive information about the most voted match and player.
