We're gonna now relive a classic that every year you will see on BBC's Crucible segments, it's the 1994 Final - the first final of our Top 3 -which saw Stephen Hendry and Jimmy White having another clash. In the opinion of 15% of the Snooker fans, it was the greatest ever match played at the famous Crucible Theatre.

What happened before

The 1994 World Snooker Championship marked the comeback of Twice Champion Alex Higgins to the Crucible Theatre after 4 years off, and the favoritism of Jimmy White as Stephen Hendry fractured his elbow and couldn't play properly.
Alex Higgins lost to Ken Doherty 10-6 in the First Round while O`Sullivan won his first match at the World Snooker Championship beating Dennis Taylor 10-6 before being destroyed 3-13 against John Parrot.
Jimmy White responded to the expectations on him as he defeated Billy Snaddon, Neal Foulds, Ken Doherty and Darren Morgan, passing all the stages with no trouble. But he surely had a nightmare when he noticed he had to face Stephen Hendry in the final, who despite the injury beat Surinder Gill, Dave Harold, Nigel Bond and Steve Davis. His positions showed he was suffering with the pain, but the results of 10-1, 13-2, 13-8 and 16-9 on his way to the final, intimated his opponent Jimmy - who let's be fair, always was intimidated on him.
Hendry was trying to win his 3rd World Championship in a row, 4 at all.
It was the fourth final against Jimmy White for Hendry, he had won all the previous 3, including an 18-5 in the previous year.

What happened during

It wasn't going to be an easy way for Hendry like always, maybe his fracture was a reason for that, anyway Jimmy had crucial chances to take a comfortable lead when he was 9-7 up and playing great Snooker, but it didn't past too much time until Hendry got close to him and the pair went frame by frame until then end. When a player had a lead, the other immediately tied the match again and no one got a 2 frame lead since the frame 16.
Jimmy White was the one behind in frame 34, but made an exquisite 75 Break to force the decider.
The decider, saw Jimmy White getting an amazing chance, but the Englishman missed an unbelievable black off it's spot, and Hendry cleared up with a very relaxed 58 Break to claim his 4th World Championship, a fact that even for the most optimist fan looked impossible before the Tournament started.

What happened after

As we should see with this quiz, this match is remembered so far, and will never be forgotten for sure.
What happened after this also entered the history of international sport, as Stephen Hendry kept his amazing game up, completing 7 World Titles in 1999, becoming the Greatest Player Ever to have picked up a cue.
Jimmy White never appeared in a Final again, but his 6 appearances in Finals is still a record for someone who never lifted the famous trophy.

Just loved to write about this final, which unfortunately I wasn't born yet to have the privilege to watch, but great to "relive" that, hope you enjoyed, thanks for reading.
