Is it time for a change in the Crucible schedule?

The World Snooker Championship runs from a Saturday right through to May Day, the first Monday of the month. Most snooker fans of a certain age favour tradition, "don't tamper with our game" they'll say.

The frames should never change length. But what if the tournament was moved to a Saturday and Sunday final, with the tournament starting on a Friday? This was the schedule once upon a time. Presumably the final moved to its current Monday slot so the BBC could further boost its viewing figures across the United Kingdom.

But the game has moved on and is now worldwide, or so everyone says. From fans all over Europe, China, Australia and even in soccer mad Brazil worshiping the game. Not everyone, believe it or not, has a holiday on the first Monday in May, so are missing out on possibly crucial parts of the final, the games showpiece. Yes most have smartphones in 2018 with internet access, but there's nothing like watching a final "live". Is it time World Snooker took us back to a Friday start and Sunday finish and finally let the world see the World Final? A Saturday and Sunday final was last seen in 1995.

As a Brazilian, I'm obviously in favour of a Sunday finish. Besides, you can have a women's event or anything else if BBC don't want to lose their Monday snooker.

Anyway, Snooker keeps highlighting on TV as this week we have the World Grand Prix on ITV followed by the Welsh Open on BBC.
Follow all the action on Ronnie O`Sullivan Brasil facebook page, and stay tuned here in the blog as we've got exciting news coming soon.
Thanks for reading, and thanks to Chris for the insight. It's always good to hear from someone that actually lives in the UK saying that the game should look a bit more carefully to the worldwide audience.
