TRIPLE CROWN STATS

In the history of snooker, 11 players have won all the three events that are part of the sport's "Triple Crown" (also known as "BBC events", "Big Three", "Majors").

Judd Trump (picture) was the latest addition to the list, after he completed the feat winning the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible in 2019. But how his achievement compares to the other greats that did the same? Let's find out! Here are the stats:

When, where and how old:

1982 Masters – Steve Davis at 24

1982 UK Championship – Terry Griffiths at 35

1983 UK Championship - Alex Higgins at 34

1990 World Championship - Stephen Hendry at 21

1999 Masters - John Higgins at 23

2000 World Championship - Mark Williams at 25

2001 World Championship - Ronnie O'Sullivan at 25

2013 UK Championship - Neil Robertson at 31

2014 World Championship - Mark Selby at 30

2015 Masters - Shaun Murphy at 32

2019 World Championship - Judd Trump at 29

Players that end up completing the Triple Crown reach the feat at an average age of 28.

Youngest players:

Stephen Hendry - 21

John Higgins - 23

Steve Davis - 24

Mark Williams - 25

Ronnie O'Sullivan - 25

Judd Trump - 29

Mark Selby - 30

Neil Robertson - 31

Shaun Murphy - 32

Alex Higgins - 34

Terry Griffiths - 35

How many seasons it took:

Steve Davis - 4th professional season

Stephen Hendry - 5th professional season

Terry Griffiths - 5th professional season

John Higgins - 7th professional season

Alex Higgins - 7th professional season *

Mark Williams - 8th professional season

Ronnie O'Sullivan - 9th professional season

Judd Trump - 14th professional season

Mark Selby - 15th professional season

Neil Robertson - 16th professional season

Shaun Murphy - 17th professional season

* Alex Higgins became a professional in 1971, but the UK Championship (the last event out of the three to be created) was only held for the first time during the 1977/1978 season. Counting from there, Alex Higgins took seven seasons to win it and complete his trophy cabinet. Within those seven seasons, Alex won the Masters and the second of his two World titles, so it's actually fair to say it took him seven season.

If we counted from 1971, it took him 13 seasons.
